CICS were invited by a Labelling Company based in Aylesbury to tender for a mezzanine floor project which needed a quick turnaround due to their new machinery being installed within a tight frame line. There were five other companies also tendering for this project, we successfully won the contract due to our competitive pricing, fast lead times and our great customer service.
The project brief detailed that the underneath of the mezzanine was to be used for production and the above was to be used for lightweight storage on shelving. This specification posed some challenges as the mezzanine needed to have a large 7-metre spans between the columns due to the new machinery being installed underneath. Our design team worked with the client to achieve a column grid to avoid the positioning of the machines to be installed after the mezzanine floor. As the top of the mezzanine floor was going to be used for light storage, a pallet gate had to be installed for ease of product transportation. Another key requirement for this project was to match the mezzanine finish floor level with their existing first-floor level.
CICS reacted promptly to the clients’ project programme with only 3 weeks lead time available between the point of order and delivery of the new machinery. The mezzanine floor and fire protection was successfully installed above the clients’ expectation before the required deadline whilst maintaining a high standard of workmanship and professionalism.
